Although I was never a writer (but cannot live without creating) I feel as though I just read myself in your intro/hero piece. Looking forward to reading your newsletter. I love Jesus, was a pro photographer over 20 yrs, and my latest piece is a bit about Formula 1 👊🏻
I am also from Ukraine, but I live in Poland with my granddaughter in a temporary shelter during the war. I continue to work in Ukraine, write research papers on logical semantics, teach online, and live in the university here. I am writing about this in detail to get to the point that I, unfortunately, don't have time to read everything you post here. Everything I get from Substack is impossible to read if you have to work and write your texts. But I like your mood, your way of seeing the world around you, the general orientation of your character, and your position on what is happening with Ukraine. I'm also not very good at taking modern current literature "off the wheels," so to speak. Not that I am too much in the grip of the classics, but for the most part, I am able to appreciate the maturity and thoughtfulness of any text. My best wishes to you
I am truly looking forward to reading your posts! As a christian I am always craving to associate with other believers that are creatively expressing an engaging Christian world view.
We share many things in common: faith, books, writing. My second daughter is adopted from Russia and I've been working on a novel project since 2012. Yep, I'm either crazy or stubborn. Probably both.
My writing is speculative/science fiction with a heavy dose of faith & God thrown in. He's an actual character really.
That’s amazing! I love that subject mix. Have you read A Canticle for Liebowitz? My all time favorite, combined Catholicism with apocalyptic themes, very good. Does your daughter speak russian?
“And I thank God for the Lighthouse (I owe it all to Him)
I owe my life to Him (for Jesus is the Lighthouse)
For Jesus is the Lighthouse (and from the rocks of sin)
And from the rocks of sin (He has shown His light)
He has shown a light around me (that I might clearly see)
That I might clearly see
If it wasn't for the Lighthouse (tell me)
Where would this ship be?”
I can’t imagine what it would be like to change cultures and language at such a young age.. what a trauma..what a wound..to have everything you ever known gone ..and then can’t communicate it..oh the pain.. oh how it hurts..I cry now for you.. for I feel the very fire that forged you to fight..to write..what’s inside..dying to get out..to be expressed to be released to finally be heard.. your voice taken away..in the days of transition of becoming a man. .i am so happy for you that you stopped drinking..for a whopping 2 years🙌🏻🙌🏻👏🏻👍🏻I remember my struggles with English..and I was raised speaking it. Oh how it made me cry.. and I had to take summer lessons just to get a grasp of it. I still struggle with spelling..thank goodness for search engines…..I always look forward to reading your little giggle you type..”haha” to most every one that leaves a comment on your posts.. Somehow it brightens my day.. so I just want to say.. I am thankful for your “Lighthouse”..I am thankful for you..May you continue to have smashing success with the words that flow through you…God bless you Alexander..💖💕❣️🥰🙌🏻😘🌹‼️
This was an insightful post; thank you for sharing. You’ve got it right. Nothing is more important than the blood of your covenants. I wish you good fortune and happiness.
P.S. I am excited to read more of your writing and to learn from it. I hope that my work, when completed, will serve the same purpose.
Recently, a younger friend asked me how she could find forgiveness for her childhood. She was so tired of being angry. And I said, I've come to the conclusion that if we really want to feel forgiveness, and we don't keep running away from the pain, eventually forgiveness comes. It can take a very long time. But if we stay with it, it comes. I consider it some kind of grace.
At this stage of my life I'm so much more aware of what's going on for those around me. More empathy, more compassion, more appreciation for the light lasting longer, and the explosion of crocus coming up through the snow. When I was younger, I was so much more consumed by my own experience. No longer drinking water from a fire hose.
Looks like you are doing well in your journey. Glad you are learning the lessons needed. It helps you prosper (Biblically in your thoughts, motives, love, sacrificial giving and growing into all God has for you).

That’s amazing, looks like we share a lot! I’ll go read it now!
Thank you for sharing your story 🫶🏼
I relate to many things, especially being a foreigner and writing in another language.
It’s amazing you have published so many books.
Keep it up!
Thank you. You’re a great inspiration to others. So good to see all that hard work you’ve put in paying off for you now.

Thank you, Nataliia, is there anything I can do to help with your Substack and writing? Anything I can contribute?
Thank you, Alexander! I'll probably write to you one day.
Let me know if you need my email

That’s wonderful, I love sharing my thoughts on this, blessings.
Me too 🙌
It took a long time for me to understand that it works that way. The last thing I wanted as a solution was forbearance.

Just ordered that book. Ty.
Thats awesome, youll love it!
I'm havent starting searching for novels with the same themes, so ty for the recommendation.
I have my first chapter of "Sent" up on my notes, it's part of the epic "The Third Test".
Also looking for an editor that likes genre.
Yes, daughter speaks Russian well.
She was only 13 months at adoption but became very proficient in her native language and minored in Russian at UofM. She's a smarty-pants.
That’s wonderful! Happy for her. And I can give you my editor’s contact if you’d like.
Sure! Any info is good. Does your editor fit my odd genre?
Yes, she does all fiction.
Great!!
Ok.
That sounds really interesting and exciting! I look forward to reading your posts!
Thank you!
