Well done. Great reflections of the pains in life. Reminds me of the need to move on through the pain of reaching through the goals of our lives. Celebrating their attainments or misses, but moving past them into the new chapters that lay ahead. I think we are called to keep reaching, keep striving, keep effecting peoples lives. Good write. Thank you.

Thank you Donald! This means so much to me that you reflected too. We do need to keep reaching and believing that God is Sovereign, and while we are alive, there is always another sunrise to do more positive things. ox

I also want to add that hummingbirds are a special theme in my life from the time I manufactured hummingbird feeders in the 70-80’s through to today where I see them every morning from spring through autumn flitting and buzzing around my gardens.

Me too! and wow! that's so cool! My dad built birdhouses and we both loved to photograph hummers! So challenging. They make me so happy. Since my dad passed, I think of the occasional hummer, that comes to his garden, as him saying hello. ox

Love this Deborah, we share the same name, by the way. Beautifully written, beautifully expressed, beautifully inspiring. Came just as I finished writing about the Dark Times we are in. Beautifully timed.

Oh then, Hello Deborah! :) Thank you so much for reading and for taking the time to leave me such a generous comment. I am grateful the timing was good. We need the sunrises to counter the darkness. It can overwhelm all the good. ox

Thank you Deborah for your wonderful Olympic Reporting. A gold medal for you. I didn't watch or read anything about the Olympics this year until I read your post. You covered everything I needed to know. Just the good stuff, not the drama of those who would spoil the real purpose of the games. Some tried to take God out of the games, but the medalists you featured, put him right where He belongs, front and center.

Gosh, thank you Charles! I am glad I could deliver some gold for you! There was even more excitement and fingers pointing upward today! It gave me a lot of hope that these athletes held the line for God in a world where they are being told not to. There has also been a lot of revival going on around Paris during the events. Tons of revival since 2020 that the general news will never talk about. Lots of sunrises :) ox

I love your recollection and challenge at the end. Lots of things to think over. Your fall off the ladder was scary! As the wife of a contractor and painter, I've had some near escapes! But as a photographer...YOU GOT THE SHOT!!

I often drive home from spending time on the street with my daughter in early evening when the sun is setting. In the hour's drive, the sky is like a movie that is ever-changing and its often a time of reflection for me and prayer. Light is such a gift. I'm always posting photos of sunsets on my Instagram account. From 2022...Driving home into this light that could be all there ever was and it would be enough. He is the giver of Light!

Hi Rosemary! Thank you so much for reading and leaving me such a thoughtful comment. I'm married to a long time electrician and my dad had a few ladder falls, so I have no idea what I was thinking doing that while alone! It was a pretty bad accident and I'm blessed I survived. The shot I took close to them, I hated and stepped down - so yeah, there I went. The one in this post of just mama I was sitting at a distance as she would arrive and wait to approach her babies -- and the other two of her feeding were through my kitchen window shooting upward. God was so good to get me up from recovering to see them each fly away at her command. It was very painful to take those while recovering but I loved how beautiful it was to see and the lesson in it. Light is a gift and I know what you mean! I step outside often and take a picture of the beautiful sky when the clouds are extra cool at sunset. Light is everything in photography, and of course, He is Light. Thank you again! ox
