Terror reigns,

Yet within His Pains I flee,

Free from all fear.

Just as I get used

To one season's wild ways,

Another one dawns.

"Chasing the Future"

Running fast away

I'm unable to reach it

unlike the present

Open your eyes wide to dream—

Ohhh...it's been ages since I wrote a haiku or any kind of poem...probably since high school. I'm not a poet by any stretch, but this is a fun challenge! So here's mine:

She holds hope in one hand

And fear in the other

Presents her one-way ticket

And tells the future,

"I'm checking in."

Future

The past a fading ghost

Of times that once were lived.

Tragic tales lost to most.

Wrongs recalled and forgived.

The present: chronic now.

If Time’s a lofty ship,

The present is the prow

Into Future does it rip.

Shaping Past, left in the wake.

Fashioning history.

As if Present does take,

Future’s life mystery.

Leaving a ghost to haunt

My remembering.

The good that's past does taunt:

Before me assembling.

Future is horizon.

What will be, what could be.

It is fear that lies in

What’s before us at sea.

Future is what’s unknown.

Shrouded in mystery

Seeds yet to be sown.

Its future history.

Future: its all that gets me by.

It is Hope. Give me or I die.
