Great article, a lot to think about, really puts a big contrast.

The absurdities and contrasts of our world are endless.

But so is our faith.

I must say space tourism was something I dreamed of as a kid, but I think as an adult people can see it for what it really is. Showing the world how big your bank balance is. It's a status tool. Speaking of tools, at least Elons ventures have some merit and benefit to humanity, a comparison well made in your extremely easy to read post.

I've just been reading about Saint Carlos and the whole canonisation process, I thought that it was a relic, I didn't realise new saints could still be recognised.

Happy Holy week

Wow, Mark what a kind and generous comment from a writer I so admire! This is the kind of article I’m gravitating towards- your encouragement is incredible.

Isn’t it crazy to think about saints in our modern times? I have a piece explaining my take on saints and how I relate to them - it’s fascinating to explore from unexpected lenses.

As I always expected space to be. And it is - the thrill of wrapping your mind around theoretical physics without being able to explain it at all. Apparently Katy Perry is now bragging about reading up on string theory before her voyage - how hilarious to imagine her explanation of m-theory.

Happy Easter, Mark 🕊️

I'm all about trying to read up on something you're about to do, so if Katy is broadening her horizons good on her, but surely she must have had some inkling on how the whole trip would have been perceived.

Girl power is great and if they had set out to go and build a school in some deprived part of the world as an all female ensemble I think people might have got behind them.

But it's like me taking a bus trip where I didn't set the route, help the driver navigate or even bring the snacks. And then expecting credit for the journey we've just taken.

With regards to modern saints it's the miracles that made me think. I was always sceptical of the threshold between coincidence and cause and effect. But my sceptical brain maybe doesn't account for the one thing that makes religion so strong. Faith!

Except it’s Katy Perry so the book was likely upside down and a prop for a photo op. It may have been a picture book.

Give me the women who went through the intense and competitive process to become actual astronauts. Give me the women who didn’t go along for the ride (I’m gonna refrain from making that a pun bc it’s Easter), but forged the path. The women who WROTE the books! lol I’m in a mood this morning.

Another interesting part of the miracle thing is how hard the Catholic Church tries to disprove them. It’s such a high threshold, as it should be.

I do think an organization picked up the database St Carlos built documenting miracles but it also beautifully simplifies the miraculous possibilities…

I really need to write out my take on saints.

lol Alexander must be reading these comments and discovering our tendency to write novels back and forth in threads!

Happy Easter, Mark 🕊️

Haha yes, we do tend to go long. At first glance I thought that you said Happy Easter with a ghost emoji, and it perfectly symbolised the holy spirit. Then I realised I should have been wearing my glasses!

Happy Easter Allison!

Sad state of affairs indeed.

If we make the excuse that it is his money and he can do with it however he sees fit, we still have to discuss as you have, the trajectory that "they" are heading...space yachts for the obnoxiously rich while the rest of the world is in tatters. Sigh. 😥

Happy Holy week to you friend!

My friend! The devil himself is probably free to use whatever currency he prefers to do evil under the guise of “good” (or under the guise of doing first, perhaps). The world may magically heal if they leave the planet on a one way space yacht….

Happy Holy Week 🕊️

I am in agreement with you. When I saw a brief newsclip about the women, they were so busy giggling while floating around that they weren't even looking out the window at the view of earth, which seems to me to be the purpose. Total narcissism.

I know exactly what you mean! I could barely stand to scroll by those pictures - I kept imagining each as Marie Antoinette and how THAT hair would look.

It’s quite an insult to women - as a woman who writes about self-care!

Maybe we’ll get an Easter miracle?
