My name was Throw-away. It wasn't printed on my birth certificate, and I didn't learn it until I was ten. Everyone over the age of 15 knew it, however. My teachers. The nuns. My sister. The bullies. What they didn't know was God's trashcan is full of diamonds others discard. I out-shined them all.
Not even one is a burden in the eyes of the Lord. The Bible says it best.
“See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. (Matthew 18:10)
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14)
Well, that was quite amazing! Truly the honest remembering of your past without pity for yourself but rather embracing God, His love for all who were left behind and then your strength, to forgive those who were supposed to nurture but instead, took off for greater self expression. The very worst thing about a difficult and lonely childhood is that you have to learn everything all by yourself and it ain't easy. I believe though that when we stand before God, He sees everything good and not so good but as well, he takes the lack of guidance we had into consideration.
What a beautifully sad read. I remember my mother would call us for dinner when we played in the yard. One time My cousins and I took a hike and didn't return by dark. My father came into the woods looking for us. He saw our little fire. This might be the wrong time to say it, but I have never felt like a burden. It was good that we did not have television while growing up. we read books, played games, and went to visit relatives who lived nearby. I also had a grandmother and grandfather with cherry trees. we used to climb them out in the yard. Life was not perfect as we were poor, but we were loved as kids.
Beautiful, God bless, thank you
Beautiful and emotional. Thanks for sharing.
This is beautiful. So clearly from the heart.

"It’s never too late to show your children love."
Yeah, true. And it doesn't take much. One smile at the right moment can give you the light you need for the rest of your journey. Nice piece, really.
Beautiful writing, beautiful sentences. I had the grandmother with the cherry trees to save me. This hits hard.
It wasn’t easy to write. Thank you for reading.🩶
