I read Canticle many years ago and loved it.
A sad tale, this writer seems to have had a difficult life, if only he had found peace. His book sounds wondrous, your words about the 'soul of the author' being discernible in the book is very poetic and well-said.
I shared one of the quotes from it in my notes today, so many other good ones too
