The whole construct surrounding the idea of 'god' is fascinating. I was blessed (my opinion) to have grown up in a non-religious household which allowed me to slowly learn and develop my own ideas around this idea.
I don't believe or disbelieve yet I continue to find fascination with the idea. Why don't I either believe or disbelieve? Because it's a waste to me to have an opinion about anything that I can't know to be 100% true. :-).
It IS challenging to look at the world with any deep thought without at least considering the idea that there IS some type of master plan though.

Some of my family members got closer to God due to science as well!
